Project School: Shenzhen Bay School

About the School

Shenzhen Bay School is a leading Chinese public school, acknowledged by the government as a model program to reform China’s schooling. It is committed to producing healthy and mature, inquisitive and skillful, well-mannered and socially responsible youth.

This innovative school believes in the power of physical education, as well as traditional academics, therefore it has a particular focus on integrating athletics and academics in its educational program.

The School’s governance structure also renders it unique. Similar to a US charter school run by a nonprofit organization, Shenzhen Bay School has a school board consisting of both the local government and JS Education Foundation.

Shenzhen Bay School first opened its doors in 2017. While the School is young, it is growing at a rapid rate with 1300 students now in the primary school and middle school.
